How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks - The Truth

Would you believe that some people find stretch marks beautiful because they are testimony to fertility? It's true, but that probably doesn't help you feel any better about them if the headline is what attracted you to read this little article!

And it probably doesn't make you feel any better knowing that over 73% of men have these marks also, and that over 95% of women have them. Or that many people develop these unsightly marks in their teens due to rapid development of adult bodies, or that almost every elite athlete has this exact type of flaw due to muscle development.

No, I guess that doesn't help, and you probably still want to get rid of yours, especially if they're accompanied by sagging, loose skin that makes them look even worse.

First I have to tell you that the tons of lotions out there that claim to help prevent or eliminate stretch marks, such as scar serum, cocoa or shea butter etc absolutely don't work. They don't work to prevent these marks, no matter how conscientiously you rub them on every day during pregnancy, and they don't remove these marks either. All they can possibly do is to mask the appearance, much as a sun tan masks the appearance. So by all means continue to pamper yourself with gorgeous-smelling creams, but don't beat yourself up if you skip days because it absolutely doesn't matter.

The best thing you can do during pregnancy to avoid scarring due to stretched skin is to avoid excess weight gain by eating well and keeping active. You can also support healthy skin by drinking enough water (more is not better), eating lots of oily fish like mackerel or sardines (or taking fish oil capsules if you're not a fish lover) and ensuring that your zinc levels are adequate. But that's it - the rest is up to your genes.

Once your skin is scarred in this way it's impossible even with the best technology available in the world today, to totally remove them, because of the fact that they are actually scars where the skin itself has torn. That's why they start out quite red and angry looking, and then fade to silvery-white.

The problem is that dermatological treatments are incredibly expensive, often costing thousands of dollars, which puts them well out of the reach of most women and men. And the results are often disappointing anyway, even after spending all that money.

This leaves only 2 choices. Firstly you could decide that your stretch marks are nothing to be embarrassed about, but are a mark of maturity, or motherhood, or "womanhood" that you share with the overwhelming majority of the people in the world.....

Secondly you can check out a new in-home technology that is priced within the reach of everyone - just look at the amazing before and after photos.
